Healing...

The cells in your body regularly replicate themselves. This is happening at a rate of millions of cells per second in your body and after 5 – 7 years nearly all the cells in your body will have been replaced. Your skin is replaced every 5 – 10 weeks. The faster cells in the human body take about 8 minutes to replicate themselves.

This process is called mitosis and begins with the copying of a cell’s DNA and then the splitting of the cell in two.

Wolverine’s cells regenerate at a much

higher rate. In a normal human it takes

days if not weeks for a cut to heal.

Wolverine often heals in less than a minute meaning his regeneration is happens at least 10,000 times faster.

The best known regenerators are lizards who can lose their tails to distract predators. The fastest regenerating lizards grow the tail back in 3 months, again much slower than Wolverine’s ability.
